Alcea rosea




Family name: Malvaceae.
Common name: hollyhock.
More info: This plant is a herbaceous perennial which has a white, pink, red flower and it blooms June to August.
It needs  medium water and high maintenance.
It tolerates a wide range of soil conditions and some light shade, but will not tolerate wet winter soils.
It provides excellent architectural height, contrast and certain amount of old world charm to cottage gardens and border backgrounds. Also It is effective when grown against walls or fences.
Exposure: Sun.
