Lilium martagon




Family name: Liliaceae
Common name: tuk's cap lili/ martagon
More info: Leaves are arranged in tiers or whole along the tall stems, the flowers are scented , smell pleasantly fragrant to some, rank and unpleasant to others. The green stems can be flushed with purple or red and the leaves are mostly in whorls, up to 16cm. Slow to increase but clumps may be left undisturbed for many years.
Exposure: full sun or part shade
Soil: needs acidic soil
